Start with your own writing
Try a short note, a message, and a prompt in the apps you actually use. Include a name or specialist word you say often. Check what appears while you speak, what changes when you stop, and how easy it is to recover a missed insertion.
This guide compares documented approaches, not recognition accuracy. We have not run a shared benchmark that establishes a winner. Saylo is a beta, and its app compatibility still needs real-world testing.
Six different starting points

Questions worth asking before you switch
- Where is speech processed? Distinguish local recognition from local storage of a cloud-generated transcript.
- Does it work in your target editor? Test the actual native app or browser field rather than assuming all text inputs behave alike.
- What does the free option include? Check current limits, billing currency, and the features you need before comparing a headline monthly price.
- How do you fix a mistake? Look at vocabulary controls, correction behavior, and whether your own edits survive a live update.
- What survives a restart? A longer transcript archive may be useful, while a session-only history may fit a more private workflow.
Try Saylo with a small, useful test
Use a non-sensitive sentence in a simple editor, then in your everyday app. Move the cursor or make a correction while a draft is present and confirm your work is preserved. Check Recent Dictations before quitting so you know how recovery behaves.
The current beta has no purchase requirement. Saylo’s planned pricing after beta is available to review, while checkout remains inactive. Choose the tool that fits your actual language, device, privacy expectations, and writing process.
