About Saylo, made by Marloo.

Saylo is a Mac dictation application developed by Marloo Creative Studio. It gives spoken words a place in your writing, with recognition that runs locally.

Updated October 26, 2026

A clear scope for the beta

Today, Saylo is a menu-bar app for Apple Silicon Macs running macOS 14 or later. Hold a chosen key to dictate, or double-tap for hands-free recording. The current beta combines local recognition, configurable keys, correction learning, and recoverable recent results.

It is a focused dictation app. There is no Saylo account, checkout, paid feature tier, meeting service, or Windows or iPhone release in the current beta. Planned Free and Pro pricing is published for after beta; billing is not live.

Keep the words close

Saylo recognizes speech on your Mac after an initial model download. It does not upload audio or transcripts. The latest 10 non-secure results stay in memory for recovery and clear when you quit.

Corrections you confirm repeatedly can become local text substitutions. You can review or remove them. Saylo does not claim to retrain an acoustic model on your voice.

Built with room to improve

The beta is available for testing without a purchase. Text-field compatibility and permission behavior are still being checked across receiving apps. The download page describes the current local-signing and notarization status.

Useful feedback starts with a specific example: which app, which Saylo version and build, which key, and what happened after you spoke. A short, non-private sample is easier to investigate than a full personal transcript.
